Runners and throws are a perennial favorite because they help to underpin the grid structure within designs.

Throws also create a natural bridge between interiors and fashion, because items such as vintage shawls make perfect additions to an interiors scheme, particularly if they are made of luxurious materials such as silk, taffeta or cashmere. Ninety-five percent of fabrics in a room should connect in some way to each other, but it is exciting to have something in the design that is unique.
